Cornelia Hahn Oberlander, esteemed landscape architect. This boss girl understood that for our civilization to grow we need to combine rural and urban living styles. During the 1960’s Oberlander designed a housing complex, Skeena Terrace, that would be immersed in greenery. In 2021 BC Housing has announced a redevelopment for Skeena Terrance! Can’t wait to see how it will impact the future of urban living! Check out Genius Loci, West Vancouver Art Museum’s attribute to Oberlander.

Winter Art Festival:

2024 Winter Arts Festival is an open-air gallery, meaning the atmosphere is the art! Everywhere you turn there will be something to interact with! 3D art, light projections, laser animations, are just a few art categories that are presented. The one category that really interests me though is the digital and augmented reality!

Cara Guri, Catalan Danish descent with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Vancouver's own Emily Carr University. Her work has been exhibited in New York, NY!!! She also has a number of awards and features of her art. One of my favorite art pieces is "Growth Spurt" - Oil on Panel, the way she brought her shirt to life with the daisies is dreamlike. You can find Cara's mural at 2410 Columbia Street. Also, if you are looking for a yummy treat Milano is just around the corner! The late art is super cute!

Ensemble Reel

I love love love the art style of Ensemble Reel. A duo team that takes art to a new level. Ensemble Reel art revolves around contrasts like black and white, realism and abstraction, and fragmentation and union. They break the cookie cutter mold with their art style. They are even ambidextrous, which I think is unique!! Can you find this sticker around Mt. Pleasant Mural?

Peter Ricq, talented multidimensional artist. When I was researching this art piece, I found out Peter and his partners were behind “League of Super Evil.” I was blown away because I remember watching this when I was younger! One of my favorite art pieces by Peter Ricq is “UTOPIA A & UTOPIA B” – 2017 – Acrylic on wood. It gives me Gorillaz vibes, let’s goooo! Go check out his dope art. You can find this mural on the coffee shop, cafe Artigiano located at #1 111 West Broadway (at Manitoba) Vancouver, BC V5Y 1P4.
